Below is the contents of a letter I sent out to the various work groups that are working on our SL Relay For Life. It is getting very exciting and we are seeing some fantastic, yet fragmented efforts. I love the fact that we have such talent doing what they do best to affect pieces of the Relay and the glue that keeps it all together is the love for Relay.
I wanted to take a few minutes to update everyone on the developments of the Second Life Relay.
I am very pleased to say that our PR department is working very well with the Linden Labs PR department and they have put together a very solid media plan that will garner us some well deserved coverage and publicize our event. We are leaving the PR up to the experts and we are luck to have them working hard for us.
We are also in the process of getting a page up on Cancer.org. We will be using this as a destination page for all of our efforts including information updates, fund raising and a live video stream of the event while it is in progress. We hope to attract viewers and entice them to donate using the Cancer.org Kintera system so that we can capture the demographic information. Our group is excited to have the page and we are working to fill it with information and images. There is an existing team to support this effort in the Sarpy County Nebraska RFL and their Kintera page is here:

Our development group is making good progress in the event planning. They have identified a number of goals and projects that need to be achieved and are in the process of recruiting in-world developers to create the needed collateral materials and items to make the event a success.
We continue to have a fantastic working relationship with our host Linden Labs. They have secured a six-region plot of land on which we can create the infrastructure for the RFL. They continue to offer advice and technical assistance and for that we are grateful. In closing I have attached a picture of our SL shirts and hope the images help us all in crossing the digital divide.
