I met Ethan Zukerman at both Pop! Tech and SXSW and was impressed with the work he was doing revolving around bringing wireless Internet to the African continent. I just saw a nice article in Tech Soup referencing this very challenge and it is so timely considering the Live 8 concerts.
I guess I am so intrigued that Africa may have better, and more robust wifi than any other western continent not due to their technological advantages, but due to the physical limitation of their hard wire networks, or more appropriately their lack of networks. I only hope that other technology leaps and bounds make it to Africa and they are able to economically become significant in the global marketplace.
