After reading the Fast Company article on the Music Genome's project Pandora, I began to think about the basis of knowledge management itself. The concept of having a set of experts tag and index all of the on-line content for consumers to better search makes sense. I then realized how internal on-line document systems could benefit from initial creator-attached tags.
Moreover when you have such a searched website like Cancer.org tags would make the search function more accurate and powerful if users were able to add their own tagged descriptions to compliment the initial creator-attached tags. My guess is that there is going to be a market for post-tagging documents and pages archived in electronic repositories because no one can find what they need. Clearly the current trend is to have documents on-line, independent of departments and geography, so tag your files early and thoroughly.
