I was reading through my mail and spent some time with a to one of my news groups. It was from Dr. Charles Ehin of Unmanagement.com. In the brief post he beautifully captures the imperative of understanding how to effectively utilize the creative energy of social capitol especially the intellectual capitol of younger employees.
The generation of intellectual capital is particularly dependent on voluntary collaboration and self-determination, foreign to the Industrial Age management mind-set that still plagues us today.
Wow - well said. He goes on to identify three specific points imperative to better utilization of knowledge workers. If you look and think you will see that these concepts apply to a whole host arenas. Knowledge workers, peer to peer marketing campaigns, viral marketing, team sports, and even ecosystems. He sums up the very nature of high level productivity models in the immediate future eloquently.
These interdependent factors are comprised of self-organization, social capital, and tacit knowledge.
